Enable WebGL in Edge
Edge is built on the same engine as Chrome, so it falls back to CPU-based rendering when a device has no usable graphics card. When Edge does produce this error, it is normally because hardware acceleration has been turned off, or because Edge has blocklisted the graphics driver.
Enable hardware acceleration
- Enter
edge://settings/systemin the address bar. - Turn on Use graphics acceleration when available.
- Restart Edge, then open the floor plan again.
Verify the change
- Enter
edge://gpuin the address bar. - Locate the WebGL2 row.
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Hardware accelerated | WebGL is running on the graphics card. This is the optimal result. |
| Software only | WebGL is running on the CPU. Floor plans display, but large plans pan and zoom slowly. |
| Disabled, or a blocklist message | WebGL is still unavailable. Continue with the section below. |
If the floor plan still does not display
Edge maintains a list of graphics drivers it refuses to use. You can override that list:
- Enter
edge://flagsin the address bar. - Search for Override software rendering list.
- Set it to Enabled.
- Restart Edge, then open the floor plan again.
Two further possibilities:
- A browser extension is blocking WebGL. Several privacy and anti-fingerprinting extensions do this by design. Disable your extensions, then reload the floor plan.
- Your organization has turned off hardware acceleration. A managed setting appears in
edge://settings/systemwith a briefcase icon and cannot be changed locally. Contact whoever manages your device.

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact Deskradar support. Include your Edge version and the value shown in the WebGL2 row of edge://gpu.
